It Takes A Village

by Katie Murray

This thesis explores the value of co-creation in individual art therapy as a school-based intervention for a child with low self-esteem. Using a single phenomenological case study, this thesis presents the lived experience of Robin, a seven-year-old boy who was referred to art therapy at his elementary school. This thesis explores the art therapy process of seven sessions and focuses on three key themes that emerged from the data. The three key themes include teamwork, the construction process, and the metaphor of a village.
