Creative Arts Therapy and Coyote Mentoring

by Gabriel Keczan

I am writing this text in my own voice, as a narrative inquiry in the first person. I set out to explore the intersecting realms of creative arts therapy and nature-connection activities known as coyote mentoring. The participants are two groups of boys at a Waldorf elementary school that is surrounded by a natural, forest setting. The exploration weaves my own story with the stories of experiences working with the boys groups and the ideas I played with along the way. The outcomes include the therapeutic benefits to the participants and the entwining of the heart and the mind of myself as therapist-researcher-facilitator.
