504 - Relational Art Therapy and Human Development: Children, Adolescents & Parents

Theories of human development will be considered in relationship to the practice of art therapy. A holistic model for relational therapy with children, adolescents and parents will be examined, attending to the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects of development. There will be an emphasis on the neurobiology of attachment and its implications for trauma-informed therapy with children and adolescents. A postmodern approach to working with parents, children and adolescents will be discussed in the context of contemporary society.
