503 - Relational Art Therapy: Theory & Practice

This course focuses on relational art therapy and the historical roots of theory as they pertain to practice. Theory and practice will be applied in a medicine wheel context of physical, emotional, mental and spiritual aspects. The examination of the theoretical foundations of art therapy will cover a wide spectrum of approaches to art therapy and the underlying theories. It will include phenomenological, existential, humanistic, psycho-cybernetic, feminist, contemplative, narrative and gestalt orientations to art therapy.
