503 - Relational Art Therapy: Theory & Practice

This course focuses on relational art therapy that is grounded in trauma-informed practice.  The theoretical foundations that inform this integrative approach will be explored along with a spectrum of approaches to art therapy and the underlying theories.  These include phenomenological, existential, humanistic, gestalt, social systems, feminist and anti-oppressive, positive art therapy and contemplative practices, cognitive-behavioural and trauma-informed orientations to art therapy.
