Over the last 21 years, the Kutenai Art Therapy Institute Library has grown in size and number but also in scope of topics, therapeutic trends, modern areas of thought and research, as well as hundreds of art therapy journals. Bit by bit books of interest for the students and instructors of the Institute were added; either purchased or donated and the shelves filled up. More shelves were added over the years, and
Fast forward two decades to our new and rebuilt library with over 5000 books all pertaining to the courses the students study here; Art Therapy, human development, psychotherapeutic approaches, theorists, clinical issues, symbolism, cultural issues, eco art therapy and indigenous approaches to name just a few. Our new library has custom made shelving reaching up towards the ceiling, allowing space in the center for a table and chairs for contemplating, studying and gathering. It is at the heart of the Institute.
